by STEPHEN WARLEY

Lucy Scott is a very special guest who wants to inspire you to author your own story!

Lucy was a mentor of mine in the early days of my career. We were both laid off working for the same company during the Dot-Com Bust of 2000.

“Yesterday is heavy.  Set it down.”

“Generalization is poison to creativity and innovation.”

Coaching Advice

Feeling stuck?  Lucy offered this guidance for telling the story you really want to tell:

1) Focus on specificity.  Don’t generalize and paint your thoughts in broad strokes, be specific about your own skills and articulate what you’re offering that other people can’t

2) Think about, and maybe even write down, things you know that you’re damn good at, don’t make it about what you feel you’re supposed to do.
