We don’t know about you, but we think those “terms of agreement” or “privacy policies” are a very cold and impersonal way to start a working relationship with each other. They don’t exactly build up a lot of trust, do they? Consider the following guidelines of how we’d like to work with you.

It’s our “agreement for working together”.

We’re building Life Skills That Matter because we feel compelled to help as many people enjoy the freedom of being their true selves by creating work that works for you. We’d love the honor of being invited on your journey!

Who We Want to Help

Someone who is tired of living up to the standards of someone else and wants to finally live up to their own standards by learning how to work on their own terms or by designing their own unique business model that supports their ideal lifestyle. (Of course, this means anyone 18 and older.)

Privacy Policy + Data Collection

Your trust means everything to us.

Your information will only be used as anonymous feedback to improve the overall quality of our courses, content, community and communications created for you and the Life Skills That Matters community.

Here are the types of data we may collect to better tailor our content and services for your needs:

  1. Your email address to send you transactional messages for purchases, updates and announcements.

  2. When you submit your email, we may ask you to complete an intake form to identify your work design needs and aspirations. This information is used to send you the content most relevant to your needs and for no other purpose.

  3. For our Clarity Call service, we use Acuity to schedule calls. When you schedule your call, we will ask you to respond to a couple of basic questions to help frame the call, so you get the most from your coaching session. Your responses will not be used for any other reason.

  4. For our Community of Practice services, we use Google Forms as part of our enrollment process to learn more about your needs. This information is used for the sole purpose of customizing your experience and will be used for no other purpose.

Under no circumstances do we ever sell any of your data, of any kind, to third-party sources. We don’t believe in making money from selling your data. We believe in getting paid for the work we provide: helping you design work that works for you.

Communication

We honestly want to hear from you! Our only measure of success is whether or not we helped our community add value to their lives. The content and materials we create will be guided by the questions and feedback you provide us.

From our experience with managing communities, we know it won’t be realistic to answer every single email we receive, but we’re honestly going to try our best. Here’s how you can contact us.

Your email will never be used for any other purpose than to send you the information you requested, service updates or by opting into one of our newsletters, courses or communities.  Under no circumstances will it ever be shared with third parties.

You will be able to easily opt out of those emails at any time by either clicking on the “unsubscribe link” at the bottom of any email we send you. We don’t like spam either and we want to only send communications of value to you.

Make Money By Helping

Our financial decisions are guided by funding a business to help as many people as possible, not to make as much money as possible.

We want to keep things simple for you and for us. We aren’t going to use manipulative pricing tactics to get you to buy our services like discounts, or prices that don’t end in a “0” or a “5”. We do, however, plan on providing special discounts to loyal members as a demonstration of our appreciation.

We will also offer you a 30-day money-back guarantee on any service you buy from Life Skills That Matter. We’re not going to make you jump through hoops to get your money back, but we will ask you to take a brief survey to tell us how we can improve our overall services. Let’s help each other improve our lives!

No Advertising or Affiliate Marketing

Stephen was an advertising sales trainer for 12 years (Don’t judge! He’s now using his skills for good!) We think advertising and affiliate marketing can be useful when used appropriately, but they won’t be a part of Life Skills That Matter. We only want to serve you and the community, not the needs of advertisers.

When you are in the business of inspiring people to change their lives, trust is everything. We don’t want any grey areas like advertising or affiliate marketing to cloud that trust. We’re here to serve you and our community, no one else.

Hold Us Accountable

We make mistakes. We don’t want to make mistakes, but it’s part and parcel of being human. We’re not afraid to admit our mistakes because we’ve learned we’ll gain more value from them than by trying to sweep them under the rug. It’s OK to call us out when we make one. Email us anytime.

We’re building Life Skills That Matter in partnership with you and our community. We may not always be able to act on your requests, but we’ll try our best.

Remember, we’re trying to align our limited personal resources and our vision with your needs. Unfortunately, they might not always align and other communities might be a better fit for your needs than the Life Skills That Matters community.

If you’re committed to making a big change in your life and/or career, accountability is everything. We’re committed to doing everything we can within the realm of our resources to help you make whatever change you want to in life, but at the end of the day, only you are ultimately responsible for changing your life.
