  • A community of practice is a small group of five people with a common interest or goal who meet on a regular basis to hold themselves accountable as they work toward achieving their goals.

They are similar to peer-to-peer accountability groups or masterminds. They are more like mastermind groups because in addition to providing accountability, they also offer reflection and brainstorming to help individuals dig deeper into how to overcome obstacles preventing them from achieving their goals.

  • Most people struggle to make a big change in their career or to start a business because they go it alone.

Then they get stuck because they do what they know over and over again even though it’s not working!

It takes a community to design the work you’ve always wanted and in the way you’ve always wanted to work.

When people do ask for help it’s always “tactical” like getting help writing a resume or the logistics for setting up a new business.

It’s safe and superficial help, but doesn’t get you the help you really need.

You know what’s really holding you back from doing work that matters? Yourself.

Don’t worry, you're not alone. We all hold ourselves back!

Joining a Community of Practice will accelerate your growth in the following ways:

#1 Feel supported by other people who want to see you succeed because they want the same change as you.

#2 Get you out of your head by identifying the blind spots holding you back.

#3 Provides a safe space to do the hard work you’ve been avoiding.

#4 Boosts your confidence by offering help to your peers and seeing the possibility of their progress for yourself.

#5 Gain a wider variety of perspectives about different ways you can get unstuck and more forward.

Humans evolved to work together, not alone.

The process of designing work that matters and on your terms will manifest far more quickly by joining a Community of Practice of your peers who want the same change rather than continuing to go it alone.

  • The Communities of Practice organized and facilitated by Life Skills That Matter are intimate groups of five individuals aligned around shared goals like making a big career change, starting a business or building your network.

Each community is curated by Life Skills That Matter based on shared interests and goals.

Sessions are organized, scheduled and facilitated by Life Skills That Matter! All you have to do is show up and participate!

  • They meet weekly for one hour and 15 minutes via Zoom.

Each of the five members is given approximately 15 minutes to get feedback and suggestions from the other members.

Once the weekly schedule has been determined, calendar invites and email reminders are provided.

The schedule for each session is maintained by Life Skills That Matter and determined by the availability of the members.

  • During each one hour and 15-minute session, each member will report on the progress of a goal they set for themselves during the previous session.

The rest of the members will ask questions, provide support and offer observations.

There is a trained facilitator in each session to ensure a safe space and timely management of the conversation.

During the very first session, each member will introduce themselves and share their overall goals and motivations for joining the Community of Practice.

  • Each Community of Practice costs $150/month to join. You will be able to cancel your membership at anytime.
