“Stephen taught me that working on your own doesn’t mean working alone. He told me I should spend 50% of my time reaching out to potential clients, advisors and collaborators.”
Suzi Hunn is an instructional strategist and founder of Teach Your Thing, a consulting and training firm helping people learn how to become more effective teachers and communicators using the latest digital tools.
When Stephen first talked to Suzi in the spring of 2016, she was calling from her cubicle. She felt stuck and was craving to do her own thing!
After a series of coaching calls, strategic exercises and a few experiments, she left her job of 14 years to take her first step toward working on her own full time.
For the next year, she used her existing skills as an instructional designer to secure several freelance projects.
In January of this year, Suzi made a pivot in her business to launch Teach Your Thing to help organizations and individuals learn how to teach what they know more effectively.
In less than a year after leaving her job, she quickly replaced her income with her freelance projects and today her revenues continue to grow beyond what she made in her last job!
